When a dying widower is approached by death with an offer, he must choose between donning the cowl, watching over his daughter or reconnecting with his love in the afterlife.

I (almost entirely)?agree with FFF.?? It is (almost) always a?bad choice to build a logline on a choice.

A plot is not about having to make a choice.? A plot is about the consequences that flow from the choice the character makes.

(I can think of a possible exception to that rule. But this logline doesn't fall within the parameters of that possible ?exception.)

I think the widower's choice of goals needs clarification?.? What does "donning the cowl" signify in terms of?an intention or a goal?

And? what ?does "watching over his daughter" mean and why?? Does??he want to?take care of her?or does?he NEED to ?take care of her?? Is she in danger of dying herself?? If so, then he wouldn't he be?reunited with her in the afterlife if he elects to "reconnect with his love in the afterlife"???("Reconnect"?seems weak -- reunite is stronger)? And won't he be reunited with his daughter eventually in the afterlife?

And if he's dying, then he's?already on the way to being reunited with his love in the afterlife, isn't he? ???So what's the dramatic dilemma?? What really hard choice does he face?
