When he killed himself, he left five letters to five people in his life giving each a special task which he believed would bring them happiness. These are their stories.

Title: The Letters

Unconventional format, admittedly, but the film wouldn’t follow a conventional format. Sometimes it’s good to experiment! Interested to hear people’s thoughts.

Thank you! That would be a big part of it, is a person who commits suicide sound of mind enough to offer this advice? Or perhaps he's the only one who understands what happiness truly is because of what has led him to kill himself. It would be like a Love Actually thematic story, but focusing on "happy" rather than "love".

I agree. It would help if we know why he takes his life... a terminal illness might justify it, and if he had lived a long and fulfilling life, his letters would be worth their weight in happiness. But, yes, adding 'The Letters' to my watch list. Thank you, Mike.

I don’t know that I would take happiness advice from someone that committed suicide, but I want to watch this. I feel like it would make me laugh and cry.

Great movie!

In terms of whom to spotlight, I see this is as kinda like Love Actually. A multi-stranded plot that explores a theme from different perspectives.

BTW: Add 1984's "Amadeus" to your research.

"The lives of five hardened people are transformed when a quest for happiness letter arrives from a ghost of the past"

Struggling with whom to spotlight, the ethos told me to envision this dead man narrating their journey, so I went with that 😉

Take care, Mike.
