Long Night’s journey into Day
This is a fascinating premise! I would reveal which of the twelve students is your MC and use an adjective to describe what sets them apart. Does this primarily take place on the same night, or do the twelve students find out they simultaneously developed insomnia and team up to find out why? I'm curious what genre this falls under. It seems like a surrealist drama/horror. How far along are you with this concept? I love the premise and want to co-write it with you if possible.
I'm a big fan of ensemble films, they work when ALL ensemble members' have a story arc all of their own... So, in a practical sense, with twelve cast members' story arcs to resolve in a max of 120 pages, that's an average of 10 pages per character..? Why 12?
Since there is no lead character to connect with, and 'face their darkest demons' is vague, it's hard to connect with this logline.
Also; lead character's are pro-active but in your logline you tell us what happens to the characters not what the characters must do.
If you want to have an ensemble that's cool, but at least tell us what the character's goal is and what they must do in order to achieve it.
Do they need to seek the help of a rogue doctor? A shaman? Do they need a priest to exorcise they're town? What is the action the characters must take in order to achieve their goal?
Hope that helped, good luck with this!
