When fake TV survival expert Rock Cartwright is challenged to a winner takes all survival-off by his younger, better rival, he finds himself in a race against time to get out of the Californian wilderness and back to Los Angeles.

And "he finds himself" is weak. He MUST race against time. But for what? What are the stakes?

How exactly is the protagonist a fake? Is he just someone who reads off a teleprompter or is he an armchair expert who has never been in the wild? If he knows nothing then the younger man is not just a rival. He's the only survival expert in the story. So if the contest is to get dropped into the wilderness and find a way back to LA, which I'm assuming, the younger man is clearly going to win unless...Well, unless something. And that something is your story and should be in your logline
