Agree with dpg here, confusion exists about the mission to launch, how or why they get to go (are their intentions good or evil?). WHy are they fleeing "their" commune and to where?

Three boys have (??) hrs to reach the launch of the last space ship to flee a dying earth.

Except how are they able to book passage? ?Surely there are millions (billions?) of other people who would like to hitch a ride. What makes them one of the lucky few?

And what is the inciting incident that causes them to risk all, and break out of their commune?
