You need a different lead character.

The lead character should be a friend who had nothing to do with the "Prank"

However the lead, the prankster and a bunch of teens are in the house (A party maybe) an the killer guts them one by one whether guilty or innocent.

Now it's up to the lead character to stop the deranged homeless man.
