Thanks for all the great responses... I've come up with a revised logline:While restoring an abandoned ski-lodge, a group of adrenaline-junkie ex-soldiers take sides in a secret war between a legendary creature and mysterious trappers determined to hunt it into extinction.

IOW:? he's retired. All that needs to be said about his backstory in a logline.

Vague and reactive, needs to be translated into a clearly defined objective goal.? A protagonist must be proactive.? What is the protagonist's proactive objective goal to deal with this "legendary creature"?

You can add the ticking time bomb that they must kill the creature before the vacationers arrive.

Just out of retirement, a team of special forces awakens a legendary creature as they attempt to restore an abandonned ski lodge. They will have to get back into their old habits as they are hunted one by one.

This could be a good horror comedy.

The remote ski lodge location makes for good tension.

Restore a ski lodge.

Group of friends.

Hunted by a legendary monster.

But why are they hunted?

Is their goal to survive or kill the beast?

The elements are there, but the structure is all over the place and repetitive.

Something more streamlined like:

After a decade of hunting terrorists, Liam and his former Special forces team retire to restore an abandoned ski lodge but?they are hunted by a legendary creature known for its winter scream.

But I still want to know about the monster. If it is legendary then tell us. And how does a scream become an actual threat? Does it set off avalanches? The monster is the hook, don't leave it out.
