Mark and his team of bar trivia superstars are favored to win the regional invitationals, but when a team of geniuses enters the tournament, Mark must convince his ex-girlfriend to rejoin the team in order to take the big prize.

This sounds like it could be really funny. Sort of a Vince Vaughn "Dodgeball" type story. Its a little too specific in the writing (the name and the "regional invitationals"), but I like the concept.

You don't have to scrap the story. The one in this movie does not seem to be about convincing an ex to join the team. You should just be aware of that other movie when writing yours. Don't let the fact that someone else is doing a trivia movie discourage you from writing yours. Chances are they are completely different. Good luck!

Oh wow. I'd not ever heard of that. It's not exactly like my story, but pretty close. Oh well. To the scrap heap with this one.
