An unsuccessful & frustrated young screenwriter search for ghosts to get inspired for writing horror screenplay as a final attempt

There is something interesting about your premise, but be warned - there are very few films about screenwriters that ever get made. Why? Probably because very few people can identify with the struggles of a screenwriter. Most people hardly even know what we do exactly.

Having said that, if you do go through with this story, I would suggest introducing a strong inciting incident. Maybe something like Jumanji or Beatlejuice, e.g., your struggling horror writer could organize a seance in the old house. That would make them a more active hero. The ghost/s turn up, the writer gets his inspiration for a million-dollar story, but now the ghosts turn on him, and he can only reap his reward if he can escape the ghosts and get out of the house.

I am just saying, desperate times call for desperate measures.

But you haven't given us the desperate situation that caused it... You should create a situation where the lead must succeed or else (This really bad thing will happen)

Specific desperate situations: Examples...

(1: If he doesn't sell a screenplay he will lose his house)

(2: If he doesn't sell his screenplay he will be forced to move back to Iowa and live with his parents)

(3: If he doesn't sell his screenplay he will be forced to work for his father's big evil corporation and become a faceless cog)

Get your lead character up a tree and then start throwing rocks at him

Anyway, I am just talking about the logline, the premise is solid. A great idea.

Basically,? he is a screenwriter who writes high budget action screenplays and fed up with rejections of all his submissions from past 5 years. And his wife encourages him to give a one last final attempt with low budget screenplay like horror which she can afford $20k to produce the film.

So, in the story he just not stick to a haunted house but everywhere like GraveYard, Beach, Forest etc.

I tried to give specific details in logline but please let me know.
