Well, if you look at the series Supernatural everything is possible. :)
This is more based on the story of Dante with the divine comedy.
Anyways i was more interested if the logline is technically correct.

What Nir Shelter said. ?The logline plays rather fast and loose with Catholic theology. ?Which can be done up to a point. ?There are rules and a story leveraging the Catholic notion of hell has to conform to them to retain credibility. ?One of them is that once a person is consigned to hell, there's not way back. ?Nobody in the corporal, temporal world can save some one else.

(Purgatory is a different matter.)

Perhaps I lack a clear understanding of the theology behind Hell, but I thought that it was one's soul that goes to hell - wouldn't he be too late?

And how exactly would he go about extracting her from Hell? Is he a supernatural half man half angel or something or other like that?
