Sounds saucy and fun!
Should I take "former" as "failed"? It sounds like that's his burden.
Now there are two things that still bug me:
1. How did it all start? What is the inciting incident? Is it the event that created his downfall?
2. "prove ... his comeback to the world" - can you be more specific? What is the visible goal here?
