Yeah, this def sounds cool. Nice opportunity to show the "freedoms" that the grandfather fought for and the grandson is living in. Can raise an interesting conversation.
Cool idea. In the first line, I would use "from" instead of "in" and the last sentence is a fragment. Rewrite it if possible and you're onto something.
