I'm intrigued by your title:

It's obviously related to the plot highlighted by this logline... and create the Mistery : it can be a lot of things, that or its opposite... Who is the Eel?

I think your logline is great. Brief but hits all key points and raises interest. Your strong logline does seem to call for a more intriguing title as there is no mention of judges there.

The title is possibly a little misleading - it just doesn't seem to match your genre to me, but I could be wrong here. 'Complicating' for me is too weak a word for a logline, makes it sound like a flimsy story. How about: 'jeopardising', or 'compromising'.

In what way is your protagonist ensnared in the plot? Why would he go along with it?

What form does this quest for freedom take? Is he train hopping? Is he hiding out in a mansion? Is he just passing through the town?

Because these questions are open ended, I'm not sure if I'm watching something contemporary, or set in the old west.

I'm assuming the sheriff has the power to return him to jail if he doesn't co-operate ... what is the dilemma for him ... he probably doesn't mind being involved in a kidnap if he is a convict ... or does he? What was he convicted of?
