Yes, maybe you're right but the comfortable mayor takes me to a lazy guy. Maybe if you switch the order? Like: An alien who is comfortable being a mayor must lead....

EmpireThinking, "non-violent" is a fairly redundant description given the "peaceful reliance" bit towards the end of the logline. So I'm not a fan of that, I'm afraid.

I originally wanted to describe the mayor as "complacent", but that would be at odds with him being prepared to lead an effort against a starship. Perhaps "placid" or "equanimous" might work ... Though neither are my ideal choice. The basic idea is that the mayor is "comfortable" in his position, having faced no town-shaking challenges in his time. But, however, he is no fool, nor is he lazy, nor is he a coward with respect to his responisibilities.

I'm open to any word of two that someone might devise that could convey this level of composed responisibility.

Hello Steven,
the idea itself is fun (instead of Alien invasion.. human invasion!) but the adjective "comfortable" doesn't really sound well to me. I would probably go with "A nonviolent" but I don't really know your character so that may be wrong! Good luck!
