My question:? When nations start nuking each other, isn't that too late for any ET to prevent WW3?

I think the confusion comes my use of the word "STOP"; I should have used "PREVENT" instead.

"When nations start testing their weapons, a friendly ET disguised among humans must prevent World War III with his drinking buddies or loose their only compatible planet"

I took the humans fighting each other as the inciting incident since that's what propels your protagonist into action. Everything prior to that is Setup. I took the liberty with a singular protagonist, which your previous version didn't have.
