I like the idea, and I'm always fascinated by other cultural traditions, but I don't know about the appeal to the Western market. It would probably be a confronting scene to people not accustomed with it, so I would definitely build up the character/relationships as much as you can. I also imagine it as a foreign subtitled film, rather than written in English.

If the film was only to be released in Morocco, chances are this is a commonplace practice, right? You'd need to make this particular couple stand out.

In my country,Morocco, the bride has to prove that she is virgin it is an honor not only for her but for her family . SO, the mother of the groom is happy to hear that her son's future wife is still a virgin ; women would follow the couple til the door to get the pants of blood .SO, they will stand by the door waiting or doing sth unusual to get the pants;,very often the couple is constrained from doing sex because of the presence of other people next door .
