>>she fears she's put her own family in jeopardy.

A function of a logline is to state the essence of a plot. And a plot is about action, not states of mind. So a logline should describe what the main character DOES -- not what the main character believes, feels, expects, or fears may happen to her (or others).

There is a lot of legal and psychological baggage in this logline and I am not sure how to sort it out. The story seems to be about a female lawyer who defends a woman whose children have been taken into protective custody. Why have the children been taken into protective custody?

That the mother fears her children are possessed is not by itself a sufficient probable cause for either arrest or protective custody. What is legally actionable is what the mother DOES as a result of her fear-- a specific act or pattern of behavior that is illegal and/or poses a threat to the welfare of the children. What does the woman DO that gives the state probable cause, that requires the woman to retain a lawyer (or have the court appoint one)?

Hi loisterrans, Thanks for your comments. However, I wanteded the lawyer to be the central character, as the mother has learning difficulties, and is seen as an easy target in the story, who then does a 'Primal Fear' 180 degrees reveal, as a totally different personality, and becomes very scary.

A mother fighting to regain custody of her children must convince her female lawyer she did not abuse them but they are supernaturally possessed.

Hi lewisricekrispy, thanks for your reply and support. She puts her daughter at risk by allowing her to get close to the mother who's children are taken into care, with suspected physical abuse. The mother is adamant there is something wrong with her children, i.e. they're possessed by some force. The lawyer thinks the mum is innocent, but begins to suspect she's made a mistake.

Scary. I think it is intensified by the fact that they are children, and the lawyer is a mother. She will most likely want to protect them, this could blind her to the childrens actions.
Why do her actions put her children at danger? Is it a case of her being paranoid that they may be in danger? Is there actual contact between her kids and the kids taken into care?
I'm quite intreaged by this one, as i love a phsycological horror movie. Good luck.
