on After the Grim Reaper has guided countless people to the Afterlife, a suitable replacement must don the cowl, so Death can finally rest in peace.

This feels like a common concept so it needs some sort of twist. Like the only eligible person is a professional skeptic.

Currently I'm thinking the son might be involved in street racing or something kinda morally arguable. It's unclear why a cop would really feel divided about protecting his son or enforcing the law. Maybe if his son killed someone hurt…
