• on ?When an inexperienced journalist gets assigned to a military unit fighting in the second US civil war, he will have to fill the unlikely role of diplomat in order to prevent the war from reaching his home town.?

  I love the setting for this plot concept. I also like the questions that a setting like this raises and how it effect the goal of the protag.

• on After she finds divorce papers, a desperate make-up artist goes to extreme measures to turn herself into her husbands ideal woman, but when she discovers that he actually dreams of becoming a woman she has to face what is really keeping them together.

  There isn't any thing wrong with a add inciting incident in my opinion, but the second answers the reason for the first, so I think it reveals too much. However, I think it is well written and arranged.

• on Rudderless since returning from the Gulf, a sardonic veteran's hapless life gets a bump when he befriends a youth in need of a mentor, but in order to save his budding relationship with his young protege's mom he must shed his old skin and become the man everyone, including himself, needs him to be.

  This is my logline for a script I just finished. I submitted this logline with the script for this years Nichols Fellowship contest. It's a very funny comedy with a bit of rom com mixed in.
