There is a clear event, character and action. I didn't exactly picture a family movie from the logline, but it certainly could be that.
on When terrorists take his wife hostage in a tower at Christmas Eve, a NYPD detective must dispatch of them to set his wife free and reconcile with her.

I think you stick to the formula quite well, and I can kind of picture the movie in my head. Though I have no idea which one it is.
